March Music Department Update

 March is Music in Our Schools Month!

MMS Honor Band

The MMS Honor Band was selected to perform at Sacred Heart University on March 9th.  They had a clinic with world-renowned composer Randall Standbridge.  They will be performing his pieces in the MMS spring band concert on May 11th at DHS.

DHS Music Students Perform at Western Region

24 DHS musicians were selected by audition to perform in the 2023 CMEA Western Region festival:

DHS Band Concert

The DHS concert band, wind ensemble, jazz combo, jazz ensemble, and percussion ensemble performed a concert on March 23rd.  Pictured above is senior Moses Maldonado with the jazz ensemble playing "The Commissioner" as a featured trombone soloist.

The Darien Young Composers and Songwriters Concert

The music department of the Darien Public Schools is pleased to announce that the annual Darien Young Composers Concert will be presented live in the DHS auditorium on Wednesday, March 29th at 6:30pm.  The concert is free and open to the public.  We encourage you to come enjoy the creative talents of our Young Composers!  If you are unable to attend, the concert will be live streamed at:  https://youtube.com/live/cUg5uqq0_Qs?feature=share
