Darien Chamber Orchestra and Tudor Singers to Perform at Lincoln Center

Two Darien High School musical ensembles have been invited to perform at Lincoln Center on Monday, February 5. The Darien High School Chamber Orchestra, directed by Jane Minnis and the Darien Tudor Singers, directed by Christopher Andrade will be performing at Lincoln Center’s David Geffen Hall as part of the Beijing Student Jinfan Art Troupe performance. Director of Music, Richard Sadlon comments that, “The students and teachers are very excited to be performing in such a prestigious venue and are grateful for this opportunity to share their music with the student musicians from Beijing .” The Chamber Orchestra will be performing the “Brook Green Suite” by Gustav Holst and the Tudor Singers will be performing “MLK” by U2 and a traditional spiritual entitled, “Keep Your Hands on the Plow.” The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m.  

An Evening of Sweet Jazz

The Middlesex Middle School Jazz Ensemble performing at last year's Sweet Night of Jazz. This year's event will be held on Thursday, February 8th in the MMS cafeteria. 

The jazz bands of Darien High School, Middlesex Middle School and the Grade 5-6 Jazz Lab are pleased to present their annual “Evening of Sweet Jazz!” This fundraising performance will be held at the Middlesex Middle School Cafeteria and is scheduled for Thursday, February 8 at 7:00 p.m. with a snow date of February 13. All are invited to enjoy dessert, coffee and great jazz! Proceeds will go toward funding band and jazz activities in all Darien Schools. Pre-Sale tickets for adults are $15; students $10. Tickets will be $20 at the door. To purchase a ticket contact your school’s band teacher, by February 6. Please include your name, email and number of adult and student tickets with your payment. No tickets will be issued but a reservation list will be maintained at the door.
