Middlesex Music Ensembles Receive Awards at Music in the Parks Festival!






The Camerata Singers performed at the Music in the Parks festival in Bristol, CT on Friday, June 7th. The ensemble under the direction of Kimberly Sadler and accompanied by Dwayne Condon received a 1st place, Superior rating and Best Overall Middle School Choir. The judges comments on the score sheet included: "They sounded like a high school choir- a good one!" and "What incredible tone, blend, and choral balance. I adjudicate many festivals around the country and I can tell you how rare it is to hear middle school choirs with your level of artistry"....... WOW!!!!


The MMS Grade 7 and 8 Grade Orchestras, under the direction on Austin Scelzo, performed for the adjudicators at the Music in the Parks festival and received a 1st place and and Excellent rating at the Festival on June 7th. The students all enjoyed an afternoon at Lake Compounce following their performances.

The Middlesex Middle School Honors Band under the direction of Gretchen Perrett and Jim Carter, assisted by Brandon Babbin performed at the Music in the Parks adjudication festival  on June 7th. The Band received a 1st place award, received a Superior rating from the judges and was also awarded the Best Overall Middle School Band.  Students and teachers from all ensembles turned in excellent performances and represented Middlesex Middle School and the Darien Public School quite admirably. Congratulations to all of the participants!!
